Family Day, Shop Demos, Happy Hour, and Speakers!

Last month we sent out a survey to our members asking what changes they would like to see at the lab.  After reading their responses we found that members were looking for more opportunities to socialize and to bring their families to the lab. They also requested demos in our shops and more speaker events. We are pleased to announce that we are going to be offering all these events on a monthly basis.

Family Day

Family Days are designed to give members a chance to work on a project with their children and significant others.  Each month, one shop manager will design a project that your family can work on together and leave with a finished piece.

Family Days will be for members only.  When signing up for a session, you only need to reserve one spot for your family.  These classes will be free, and space will be limited.

Shop Demos

In addition to Family Days, we are going to offer demos in one of the shops every month.  Our shop managers will demonstrate a skill and answer questions to help give members a better understanding of the techniques and tools used. Shop Demos are for Members Only

Happy Hour

Once a month we are going to host a happy hour at the lab where members will have an opportunity to interact, discuss projects, and meet people from the community.  TXRX will provide drinks and snacks, we would like these events to function as a pot luck as well, so members are encouraged to bring food too. Happy Hours are for open to the public.

Speaker Series

The first and third Friday of every month, TXRX hosts an Open House, offering tours and answering questions from potential members and people from the community interested in learning more about the lab.  What our members might not know is that for the past few months we have had local business owners and entrepreneurs speaking at these events.  Our speakers tell their story and finish up with a Q&A session. This event is open to the public.

Artist's Residency

TXRX is currently hosting an Artist's Residency Program. The studio space will be open for members to visit the first and third Friday of the month, during and after Open House.
